Here at qig@CBPF we combine theoretical research with exquisite NMR experiments. This reflects also on our guests. For the next ten days or so we have the visit of Prof. Marcos Saraceno (Tandar Laboratory, CNEA) and Prof. Dieter Suter (Dortmund University). Marcos is an expert in everything related to quantum chaos and Wigner functions. Dieter, on the other hand, is worldwide known for quantum information processing within the NMR framework.

Title: Phase space properties of SIC-POVM fiducial states
Abstract: The problem of constructing Symmetric Informationally Complete Positive Operator Valued Measures (SIC-POVM) is still open. They have been found numerically for all values of the Hilbert space dimension d<67, but a general proof of if and why they should exist for all d is lacking. In this talk I will explore different representations of the known states with particular emphasis in their phase space localization properties.
